Well here we are degenerate’s. Week 10 College Football. November is here. Penn State has finally lost. The first Playoff Polls have been released. And Alabama is no longer the number one team in the country (shout-out Bulldogs). This week is PACKED with numbers, as in ranked opponents are facing off all over the place. In fact, there are seven total ranked matchups, ties for most ever in a single week for college football. You’re going to want to run your errands early this morning so you don’t miss any of the action. Because you can bet your bottom dollar there will be upsets this weekend. And plenty of them.
(15) Iowa State vs. West Virginia: Over 61.5
Fun Fact: Central Florida vs. Southern Methodist has the highest o/u line this weekend at 74.5! Vegas must really put faith in defensive coordinators after the first playoff polls come out. We were averaging high 60’s so far this season across the board on the over/under’s. I mean, just look at this matchup! This is a prime example of Vegas being complete IDIOTS. West Virginia is averaging 42 on the scoreboard this season. And Iowa State is coming in at just about 27. I will gladly take those averages, swap em’, and add them up to get the final score of this game (69, nice).
Final Score: Iowa State 42, West Virginia 27
(5) Oklahoma vs. (11) Oklahoma State: Oklahoma State -3
I don’t trust Baker Mayfield (who lost to Iowa State) enough on the road this weekend. He is going up against a high-powered offense that puts up POINTS. This game is going to come down to two things. One, whether or not Baker is truly Heisman worthy and is able to match the offensive production of the Cowboys at home. Or two, if the Sooners defense is capable of holding Oklahoma State in the first half to allow Baker to do his thing and take the lead early. I don’t think either of those things will happen. Oklahoma State will remain fast and furious at home. If they win the coin toss, you know they will be receiving. And by god if they score on their first drive, thoughts and prayers to Baker’s Heisman candidacy. Sorry Sooners.
Final Score: Oklahoma State 38, Oklahoma 30
(6) Ohio State vs. Iowa: Iowa +15.5
Ohio State is coming off an electric win against the rival Nittany Lions in The Shoe. But let me be clear here; Penn State gave them that win. I give credit to Ohio State for battling back, but the Nittany Lions straight up bought the win, wrapped it up, put a bow on top, and placed it in the palms of Urban Meyer. Iowa for whatever reason tends to hang in with conference teams. Every Big Ten team they have faced they have either beat or lost to by no more than seven. The same thing will happen today at Kinnick Stadium. Ohio State will ultimately get the ‘W’, but Iowa covers.
Final Score: Ohio State 30, Iowa 17
(19) LSU vs. (2) Alabama: LSU +22
You read that pick right. I’m all in on my main man Coach O covering the spread on the road against Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide. I am definitely admitting that this is a completely bias pick cause I’m a big Coach O guy. Especially when Alabama is going to come out foaming at the mouth for Tiger blood after being knocked down to number two on the AP poll without losing a game. But I also love LSU in ranked games. They have been on a roll since that season changing loss to Troy, beating the likes of Florida, Auburn, and Ole Miss. Those teams are all legit enough for me to take the +22 against an Alabama team whose best opponent thus far this season has been Texas A&M. I believe in you Coach O. Go Tigers.
Final Score: Alabama 32, LSU 14
(13) Virginia Tech vs. (10) Miami: Virginia Tech -3
Ho’ Baby! This is going to be a great game. Two fantastic teams with just overall tremendous aspects. Good defenses, good quarterbacks, and great coaching staff’s. I actually hate that I am going to take the Hookies on the road here against a Miami team who is absolutely BACK. And, to be honest, this is definitely going to be close. There is really only one difference that separates these two squads – and it’s all about third downs. Miami really struggles with third down conversions, and the Hookies? One of the best defenses in the country in stopping the third down conversion. This primetime matchup is set to be a good one, but the Hookies are going to swap places on the rankings after coming out with a 4-point win on the road.
Final Score: Virginia Tech 24, Miami 20
