The Degenerate's Digest v.40

Rivalry Week! Throw the record books out the window, we don’t need’em this week. This week is all about gut feels. Which side is going to have more passion, more determination, more grit. And which star players want to shine for the draft (cause those players don’t do bowl games anymore). It’s an action-packed weekend, let’s make sure your kids have present’s this Christmas.

Texas Tech @ Texas: Texas Tech +10/Home Team Total Points Under 37

Texas is officially back! Officially back to mediocrity. Just when the hook’em horns were looking to be getting back on track, the rails fall off. It’s a shame because Texas and USC are two programs that make the world of college football so much better, but I guess we’ll have to benefit off their trials and tribulations. The Red Raiders haven’t lost by more than 10 points since Week 4 against Oklahoma. That game was also the only game this season they gave up more than 35 points. And in a rivalry game? Forget about it. Look for a back and forth matchup with a good number of offensive turnovers.

Final Score: Texas 35, Texas Tech 31

(19) Cincinnati @ (18) Memphis: Cincinnati +12.5

Cincinnati has already clinched the AAC east, so they will be playing for the championship next week. Navy plays Houston this weekend for a shot at the AAC west. If the Midshipmen come out with a victory, and Memphis loses today – then Memphis will be out of contention. In summation, we could very well see a rematch of this very game next week for the AAC Championship. Most people would probably have the bench come in for the Bearcats today, let Memphis show everything it’s got. But that’s just not how it works in college football, and especially not in the AAC. 12.5 is just too many points for a team that has a decent number of draft candidates looking to shine along with complimentary pieces hoping to win it all this season. I expect a cover here no matter what the situation may be.

Final Score: Memphis 42, Cincinnati 33

(4) Georgia @ Georgia Tech: Georgia -28

It’s a simple fact that the Bulldogs are not the offensive powerhouse most thought they would be this season. They don’t really beat up on teams. None the less, Georgia Tech is a nobody. They’re not showing up for this game, and even if they did – I’d still take this spread. Bulldogs need a big win before the big games that lie ahead.

Final Score: Georgia 42, Georgia Tech 13

(5) Alabama @ (15) Auburn: Alabama -3.5

What the fuck is this? When was the last time you ever saw an Alabama line this low? Bo Nix’s first Iron Bowl? I just don’t see Bama blowing this one, even with Mac Jones at quarterback.

Final Score: Alabama 27, Auburn 17

(9) Baylor @ Kansas: Baylor -14

Kansas stinks, regardless of their ability to hang with some teams. Keyword; some. Baylor came out just like I said and stomped on the Longhorns after that tough game against Oklahoma. They’re not going to let some ding-dong Jayhawks let this be a nail bitter. Finish the season strong before the Big 12 Championship game.

Final Score: Baylor 35, Kansas 17

Running Record: (36-27-2)
