Seriously, if you don’t like the state of college football right now, I don’t like you. Just close this tab right now, I don’t want your views. These matchups are great. And to be honest, anything can happen. I don’t care how much tape has been watched, how much momentum teams have, etc. What makes college football great is the level of variability. Coin flips can change the course of history.

(7) Notre Dame @ (6) Penn State: Over 45.5, ALT Line Parlay Notre Dame +7.5/O35.5 (-149)

I know, I know. I said I wasn’t gonna fuck with alternate line parlays again after the first round of the playoffs. Well, I also say I’m not gonna drink again every Monday and that doesn’t stick either. Oh well too bad get over it.

I really think the pick here is the over. It’s probably pretty surprising to hear, given how successful both of these defenses have looked in the playoff and throughout the season in general. But as I said before, I don’t make the rules. Two great defenses cancel each other out, of course. And what you’re left with is two teams in the top 10 for points scored. But seriously, I just think this number is very achievable. College games this season have been some of the longest in recent memory, so many flags and clock stoppages. With how these two teams have been operating, I think there will be plenty of opportunities to make this a shootout even if they both start slow. And if it’s a close game in the 2nd half, as it is expected to be, we’re not gonna be getting FG attempt after FG attempt. Nope, teams are gonna be looking to put the other side out of it. 4 down territory will be in effect all game knowing how aggressive both of these coaches are.

Another note I must share about this game is hype videos. Both these teams have great hype videos. Hype videos matter. Notre Dame clearly has some film school editors on a mission this postseason. And Penn State… well, Penn State is letting their fans make the content for them.

Said it last week and I’ll say it again, the narrative here is all you need to make this bet. I’m going to be all over Ohio State in this game. Ohio State -5.5, alternate lines, big unit play on moneyline, 1st quarter, 1st half, everything. All Buckeyes. There is no one crashing this wave right now. Especially not Texas who, in all honesty, shouldn’t be here right now after what Cam Skattebo did to them in the second half last week.
