Nice. That’s the kind of season we’re having, folks. It’s not good by any stretch, and we have had the ups and downs of it, but the biggest trend this season has been the 3-2 or 2-3 record. I think we’re a total of 2 up on the season. That’s how you turn a negative into a positive though. And that’s nice. This season is just nice. So is the slate this week. It’s just nice.
I had no idea when scheduling the Bad Beer BBQ I’m hosting for the games today that it would be on the 69th volume of the Digest. Nice. Let’s have a day, and really keep the nice vibes going. Maybe that kind of logic will ride us into some great weekends ahead. Week 8! Nice.
(16) Wake Forest @ Army: Army OUTRIGHT
I don’t know why this is the pick we’re starting with today, I just have a weird gut feeling about our boots on the ground today. I feel God in this Chili’s tonight. And by that I mean I feel good about the crowd assistance at Michie Stadium. For note, the undefeated Demon Deacons win margin has dropped in every single game they’ve played - leading up to last weekend with a OT victory over Syracuse. We’ve talked about charts this season folks, think about that trend for a second. Let’s hope our boys can get up for this one and pull an upset here.
Final Score: Army 35, Wake Forest 34 (Nice)
(10) Oregon @ UCLA: Over 60.5
Chip Kelly hosting his old program? Do you think for a second he’s not going to do everything in his power to run up the scoreboard? That’s honestly the only chance the Bruins have in this game to begin with, putting up points. And it is for that reason, we’re taking the over.
Final Score: Oregon 38, UCLA 31 (Nice)
(24) UTSA @ Louisiana Tech: UTSA -6
Is this year’s UTSA last year’s Coastal Carolina? Maybe. I haven’t watched them once. This is merely a ‘take a shot on a hot team who just got into the AP Top 25 for the first time in program history’ pick.
Final Score: UTSA 42, Louisiana Tech 27 (Nice)
(5) Ohio State @ Indiana: Ohio State -20
I think Ohio State is back? If so - they are 100% a team to keep an eye on late here for a wave pick. They have covered 3 in a row, and while they’re 2-8 against the spread vs. Indiana, I just don’t think Indiana is showing up for ANY game this season let alone this one. Penn State beat them 24-0 and if there’s anything to compare here it’s that Ohio State, even with the Oregon loss, is a better coached and better schemed offense. With the Buckeye’s defense tightening it up of late, I expect them to go off here and try catching eyeballs once again down the stretch leading up to a possible appearance in the Big Ten Championship and CFB playoff once again.
Final Score: Ohio State 52, Indiana 17 (Nice)
USC @ (13) Notre Dame: Over 59
Only way USC is going to make this beautiful color game and classic matchup interesting is by having success offensively. That’s all we need to know here.
Final Score: Notre Dame 41, USC 28 (Nice)
Running Record: (113-93-3)
