The dog bowls have been cancelled! Not just because things took a turn for the worst the week before Christmas, but also because once the Hawaii bowl was cancelled, I knew the shtick had run its course. With that being said, I am JACKED for the playoff games today. Fresh off a hangover, two Advil's, a Monster, and the elixir of truth that is currently being consumed (2 parts vodka, 2 parts lemon lime seltzer, one part orange juice), I am ready for the day that lies ahead. New Year's Eve, one of the most fun days of the year. And by fun I mean eating a shit ton of hors d’Oeuvres, drinking a variety of alcohols that combined should never enter into the human body in the same day, and gambling my ass off. We've been working for this day all season, two great games that I’m sure will turn out exactly how we expect them to. This is the college football playoff, baby!
(4) Cincinnati @ (1) Alabama: Alabama -13.5/Over 57.5
I’ve said this time and time again. You don’t get rich betting against Alabama. You have to take them in this spot. A lot of people were making fun of some of the quotes coming out of Tuscaloosa the past couple of weeks leading up to this match up, specifically the ‘underdog’ mindset. With the Crimson Tide being 13.5 point favorites, it’s a little tough to say they are underdogs. But in Tuscaloosa, it’s true! Alabama took FOR-EV-ER to get going this season. And that recency bias has 100% infected my brain to force me to take them here against the fist playoff appearance for Cincy. The Cinderella run ends today. As for the over, after watching the second half of the Tennessee/Purdue game last night, I have to take every over I can the rest of the season. It was amazing.
Final Score: Alabama 38, Cincinnati 27
(3) Georgia @ (2) Michigan: Michigan +7.5/Over 45.5
I don’t really have any stats to prove this, but for some reason I just feel like every big game Georgia comes into under Kirby Smart - it’s never easy. They win some, they lose some, they get blown out in others. But it’s never Georgia in a route. Have to take the touchdown here for Michigan. They want it more, and they know it. I don’t know if that willpower will be enough to beat the Bulldogs today, but it should be enough to make it close. And yea, same explanation for the over. I’m just addicted to overs right now after that game last night. I loved it.
Final Score: Georgia 27, Michigan 24
