‘When people talk, listen completely. Most people never listen.’ – Ernest Hemingway (who apparently read the fucking Digest knowing how successful that guy was). This morning I woke up and immediately pulled up the slate for today and began to drool. It’s such a great fucking slate of college football. From noon to midnight, we got awesome matchups. I want to bet on everything I can today. October is here, this is where we shine. You want to be rolling around town in this cool fall weather with a generic N95 mask and your girl rocking off brand Uggs? Fuck that. Pony up, bet the slate, and let’s get ourselves one of these bad boys seen on Inside Edition. Oh, and when you do turn into that ghetto superstar you’ve always dreamed of becoming, even during a pandemic – just remember you listened to Joey Digest.
South Carolina @ (3) Florida: Florida -16.5
Hill is not going to out-duel Trask. That’s what this game is going to come down to. Florida’s offense looked great last week in their first game of the season, and the hype around Kyle Trask is building. Collin Hill wasn’t bad either against Tennessee – the kid can throw the ball. Ironically enough, that was the weak spot to the Florida defense against Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss. With that said – it was game one, and Kiffin is an offensive mastermind. I don’t expect the Gators defense to give up nearly as many big plays as they did last week (while still covering the 13.5). Even if it’s close at the half, I expect another pull away from the Florida offense.
Final Score: Florida 42, South Carolina 24
NC State @ (24) Pittsburgh: Over 46.5
I don’t really care to much for either of these teams at this point in the season. I was high on Pitt to start but they kind of just haven’t shown up the way I was hoping them to in the pass game since Week 1. Hello? Earth to Whipple! With that said, I do think both of these teams want to prove to the college football world that they can make more noise then they currently are – I’m talking shootout folks. The total could be reached by one of these teams alone. Take the over.
Final Score: Pittsburgh 41, NC State 38
(13) Texas A&M @ (2) Alabama: Alabama -17.5
The Aggies were only able to put up 17 points against Vanderbilt, a game they almost lost. Bama however, was able to put up 38 in a game they looked slow in to win by 19 against Missouri. At the end of the day, this pick really just comes down to a Crimson Tide home game and a team that wants to get it going on both sides of the ball. I trust Alabama a whole lot more than a team that snuck by Vanderbilt and couldn’t get 3 touchdowns on the day. Alabama will win by that amount today.
Final Score: Alabama 35, Texas A&M 14
Arkansas @ (16) Mississippi State: Mississippi -16.5
The new look Mississippi State Bulldogs under the helm of Mike Leech where just able to tackle the reigning national championship Tigers by 10 points. There’s no shot in hell you can give Arkansas more credit on either side of the ball just yet after losing to Georgia by 24 last week. I think KJ Costello is a dude, and this Bulldogs squad – along with the ever offensively driven Leech are just a bunch of guys being dudes.
Final Score: Mississippi State 48, Arkansas 21
(18) Oklahoma @ Iowa State: Oklahoma -7.5
Oklahoma lost a barn burner last week in their debut to Kansas State – the same squad that upset them the year before. The Sooners just love to lose to Kansas State, it’s a very well-known fact. Another well-known fact? They come out in games after upsets and blow the doors off their usually lesser-ranked opponents. It’s going to be a tough day for the Cyclones in Jack Trice stadium.
Final Score: Oklahoma 45, Iowa State 27
Running Record: (56-37-2)
